Instrument Rating

Receiving your instrument rating increases the bounds of your knowledge in aviation, your safety in the sky, as well as the conditions you may fly in.

This program strengthens your ability to fly under low (or no) visibility conditions using only your instruments. You will master instrument approved and departure procedures, communicate with Air Traffic Control, and procure a deeper understanding of weather patterns, aircraft handling, and smart decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 50 hours of cross-country flight time as a Pilot in Command

  • 40 hours of simulated Instrument Meteorological Conditions flight time

  • 15 hours of instrument flight instruction with an authorized instructor
